Honolulu Community College has been around since 1920 and was established as a trade school in Palama. It is one of eight schools in the UH Community College System and grown immensely since its first introduction. The school offers art degrees as well as science.Honolulu Community College is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It has been fully accredited since 1970 by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The main campus is located a very short distance from Dillingham Boulevard which is considered the heart of Honolulu. It occupies over twenty acres in the Kalihi-Palama area of Dillingham Boulevard. There are also facilities located near the Honolulu International Airport as well as at Sand Island.
